Inspiration

Inspiration is a funny creature. It thrives on the strangest and often most seemingly meaningless things; from a giant squid to a pair of old socks. Not only is inspiration fickle and awkward, but it is also extremely mysterious. It somehow manages to fulfill characteristics which many of us attempt to, and yet fail as easily as inspiration succeeds. If only we could capture the essence of inspiration and bottle it! And yet, if we succeeded in doing that, it would ruin the meaning of the word and make it a lot less valuable, as well as less personal. Everyone who has ever been inspired, is different to the next. If we caught inspiration, therefore, it would fail to continue t inspire. Inspiration isn't about rationality or reality; it is about spontaneity and fantasy, even when it's based on real life.
